Born in Madeira Island, Joao Costa has been diving on a single breath since he was a kid, but only discovered freediving much later during his summer college holidays with a friend. He started practicing competitive freediving in 2005 and since then has set 8 national records for Portugal, representing his country in Freediving World Championships and World Cups. Later in 2012, he took his first FII freediving and one year later decided to become an FII Freediving Instructor Professional. In 2014, he became the first Portuguese to freedive down to 50 meters in all depth disciplines (CNF, CWT, FIM) making him one of the best freedivers of all time in his country. What we can say about him is that with his experience, knowledge and passion for the Ocean, you will be inspired to discover and explore the underwater world in a safe and enjoyable way, with a very effective methodology. Joao teaches both in English and Portuguese, and he is also available for private freediving classes, training and talks about safety, equipment, breathing, relaxation, technique, equalization, physiology and other subjects related to freediving. Challenge your Self, it only takes One Breath! For more information, check his website: www.oceanicfreediving.com
