As a person who spends countless hours near the water, I felt that this course would be helpful but didn't realize how helpful until the course completion. There is a difference in being comfortable on top of the water (boat, wake boarding, swimming, etc.) vs being comfortable under the water. Being comfortable comes by experience thus building confidence. This is a big step in that direction.

I absolutely recommend this course - and both Rodman and Matt as instructors. You will learn a lot - how to hold your breath longer than you thought you could (3 min seemed easy, somehow!), how to recognize and handle emergency situations, and how to relax and dive into the deep blue without fear. You'll leave the course more confident than you came into it and will be super stoked to get out and dive more. For sure take the class!

The course was everything I could have hoped for and more. James was patient in teaching techniques and answered all of the classes questions thoroughly. With his guidance, coaching and encouragement I was able to achieve the goals we set and felt confidant and comfortable about them. I grew up freediving for scallops and lobster in 15-20ft of water, but James opened up a whole new world of diving for me. I'm looking forward to the future of freediving and spearfishing with my newfound confidence that comes from the safety knowledge I learned.

I was fairly blown away after taking the Level 1 class with Matt. I've got a lifetime of spearfishing under my belt and have been serious about it for the last 13 years. The class taught me so much I couldn't believe it. I'll definitely be moving forward with Level 2 at some point and I will definitely be sticking with FII. I could go on and on about Matt but I'll just say that he was extremely friendly, knowledgable and efficient. From the moment of signing up to following through after, he showed a tremendous amount of patience with our group. I gave him numerous opportunities to make more money by enlarging the group and he passed on every one. He was insistent on making certain we were getting the best individual instruction maximizing our experience. Another one of your excellent instructors Nathan Lucas even joined us on the pool day and we benefitted greatly from his help and expertise. My friends that didn't get in on this one will be booking with you ASAP and I will encourage all to stick with FII. Top Notch info and top notch instruction. MY mind is blown. He was a wonderful instructor. I really enjoyed his presentation of the material both in the class and in the water. He has been diving a long time and obviously has a passion for the sport. His enthusiasm comes through when he is teaching and everyone seemed to want to learn from him. Matt Paja did a great job helping him as well. Looking forward to Level 2
