# 0 Level 1 Freediver

Instructor: Nathan Lucas

Nathan's knowledge of the sport of freediving as well as his joy for helping others transition into the amazing world of freediving is apparent from the very beginning. Within two days of registering for Nathan's class he contacted me to address any questions I had concerning gear prior to the class. Nathan, two other students, and myself all met at a pool prior to the class date to try out some of the different fins Nathan owned so we could get an idea of what we were looking for prior to actually buying any gear for the class. During the class Nathan was able to answer any question anyone had while still expanding on the topic or rephrasing the answer to ensure everyone understood what was said. Once we had starting the ocean diving portion of the class Nathan continued to exceed every expectation I had for an instructor. I had equalization issues during the ocean portion and was unable to complete the class on that original date. The following weekend I was invited by Nathan to finish the course one on one. Using the tips for fixing my equalization problem given to me by Nathan after the open water portion, I was able to hit depth and pass the class that following weekend. Nathan is an amazing instructor and if I had the ability to give him more stars I would. You can tell he is doing everything he is doing out of a love of freediving and love of helping others.

Nathan was very informative about freediving and its history he stressed safety and the ability of the body to extend your breath hold reaching depths that are comfortable and attainable if you practice and adapt your body to the lifestyle of freediving. In the ocean he was observant to us students always checking lip color and equalization issues he coached us giving me personally , confidence to reach my max depths of 43-53 feet which was fun and relaxing. Thanks Nathan!

Instructor: Nathan Lucas

I am an avid Freediver I have been swimming California coastlines for about the last 5 years and make frequent trips to Hawaii. I met Nathan about a year ago and I heard of his class and he reccomended that I sign up to take my diving to the next level. I would highly recommend Nathan Lucas and his fii level 1 course. In just a few days I learned vital information about how not only could I Freedive with better form but most importantly how to do it more safely and how I could potentially save someone's life that is having loss of motor control skills or a shallow water blackout. I also lobster dive at night and my dive partner got certified by Nathan as well so it just feels so much safer to know that your diving friends have the skill set to save you. Nathan is a true professional he is a phenomenal teacher that is so passionate about teaching freediving that after the course he has contacted me with great articles on freediving stuff that I have learned from. If you want to dive safer , deeper and improve your form I highly recommend this fii level one course with Nathan Lucas . Thanks again Coach

This was a great class and I learned a ton. I took this class primarily with the intention to learn safety and rescue techniques. Nathan went over this material very thoroughly and I was impressed with his attention to detail as I took the content very serious. As for the rest of the course the line diving and other course technique that was administered has improved my freediving immensely. Well worth my time and money IMO. Everyone should take this course.

Daniel Koval was an awesome instructor, I am so glad I took this course. The safety aspects of this course alone blew me away. I was able to hit 3x my normal depth on the second day. I cant wait to get back in the water.
